WLI Guidance & Counseling Program Components

Guidance Curriculum

The Guidance Curriculum is a comprehensive program designed to support students’ academic, career, and personal/social development. It provides structured lessons and activities that help students build essential skills such as decision-making, goal setting, and interpersonal communication. Aligned with state standards, the curriculum ensures that every student receives guidance to prepare for success in school and beyond.

Individual Planning

Individual Planning is a component of the school counseling program that helps students set and achieve personal, academic, and career goals. Through one-on-one meetings and planning activities, students explore their interests, review progress, and create action plans for future success. This process ensures every student has a roadmap to reach their full potential.

Responsive Services

Responsive Services is a key part of the school counseling program that provides immediate support for students’ needs and concerns. This includes helping students manage personal challenges, crisis situations, and other issues that may affect their well-being or academic success. Through counseling, referrals, and problem-solving strategies, responsive services ensure students receive timely assistance to stay on track.

System Support

Systems Support is the foundation of the school counseling program that ensures its effectiveness and alignment with campus goals. This component includes program management, professional development, community outreach, and collaboration with staff and families. Systems support helps maintain a well-organized counseling program that meets students’ academic, career, and personal/social needs.

INTERVENTION SERVICES

While we know school should be the focus of a child’s life, sometimes other events impact a student’s ability to achieve. To better support Fort Worth ISD students during such times, Intervention Services are available.

We serve students who are experiencing difficulties either on or off the school campus. Our intent is to help these students find coping strategies and solutions that enable them to return to a healthy level of functioning in life and to improve performance in the classroom.

SERVICIOS DE INTERVENCIÓN

Aunque sabemos que la escuela debe ser el centro de enfoque en la vida de los niños, algunas veces ocurren otros eventos que causan impacto en la capacidad del estudiante para alcanzar el éxito. Para apoyar mejor a los estudiantes del Fort Worth ISD durante esos momentos tenemos disponibles Servicios de Intervención.

Proveemos servicio a aquellos estudiantes que están teniendo dificultades, ya sea dentro o fuera del campus escolar. Nuestra intención es ayudar a estos estudiantes a encontrar estrategias de resolución de problemas y soluciones que les permitan regresar a un nivel de funcionamiento saludable en la vida y a mejorar su rendimiento en el salón de clases.
